VoIP on Nokia E-Series

Enhanced VoIP Nokia can work with your modem WiFi router giving you the choice to make as little or as much calls as you want. For Travellers, service can be extended throughout the premises. Calls are routed directly to you whether you are at another office, logged onto a WiFi hotspot or sitting in a cyber café in Timbuktu. For example, if you are connected to a WiFi Hot Spot in Singapore, you could make calls from your mobile at the standard OctreeVOIP rates or talk to colleagues on the OctreeVOIP system for free as the handset will work exactly the same as any OctreeVOIP IP Phone.

 

Setting up most features on a mobile is fiddly and time consuming, so we have developed an Over-The-Air Provisioning (OTAP) system. Using our OTAP system, OctreeVOIP can enable Mobile VoIP on compatible Nokia WiFi mobiles E-series and N-series. Meaning we will send you an auto-configuration message to your handset, setting it up ready for OctreeVOIP 's Mobile VoIP.

Setting up your Nokia to make VoIP Calls

Once your handset  has been configured over-the-air, you just need to set up your Wireless Access Point that the phone will initially use to make OctreeVOIP calls, as follows:

Configure the “Access Point” to use for Internet telephone calls:

Menu ->Tools ->Settings ->Connection ->Access Point ->Select your AP

Configure default call type:

Menu -> Tools -> Settings -> Call   Default call type: Internet

Re-Start your Phone!

Make a Test Call: Dial 789 – To hear the OctreeVOIP test message.


New telephony generation is already there. Either you call from your IP Phone, your PC phone, your coffee machine, your fridge, or from your mobile... all will pass over the Internet. Our nice but ‘old-school’ handsets will be nothing any more but objects of collection!
